Here is the German Chamomile, Matricaria recutita, flower. It is also know as Hungarian chamomile (kamilla), wild chamomile, blue chamomile, or scented mayweed and is a member of the Asteraceae family. It is used for intestinal gas, travel sickness, stuffy nose, hay fever, diarrhea, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), fibromyalgia, anxiety, restlessness, and trouble sleeping. It is also taken by mouth for stomach and intestinal spasms, stomach and intestinal inflammation, stomach ulcers, colic, indigestion, and menstrual cramps. This herbaceous plant is an annual that becomes 1-2' tall and splits into a multi flora producing hundreds of flowers of one plant! It tends to flower more late in the season but does flower all year long. Open pollinated mid to late season annual 45 to 95+ days. Leaves can be picked any time.
