Here is the Bishop's Crown Pepper, Capsicum baccatum var. pendulum, Scoville units: 5,000 to 30,000 SHU. This pepper originates from Barbados but is said it may have originated from south America originally. This pepper goes by many names like:  Aji flor, Balloon pepper, Campane, Christmas bell, Orchid, Peri peri, Pimenta cambuci, Ubatuba cambuci, joker's hat, Bishop's Hat, an a few more. The fruits get to around 1.5 inches across and shaped like a hat or crown. This pepper gets its name because it looks like a crown. The fruits go from green to red when fully ripe. Plants can get to 3+ feet tall and produce dozens or more pods per plant. Fruits have an nice rich but mild flavor with a slight tang when fresh with a very nice smooth crunchiness that is very satisfying but some peppers may be very hot! These make a great ornamental pepper with tasty an crunchy hot peppers!  Open pollinated 93 to 100+ days.
