Peruvian Wild Tomato
Here is the Peruvian Wild Tomato, Solanum peruvianum, new for 2019. This wild tomato from central Peru to northern Chile is a very rare tomato type to come across! This Indeterminate, semi regular leaf, perennial tomato plant produces 1/2" sized, pale green-white, with some purple specks tomatoes that have a smooth pale skin and can be heavy producing variety. We found this variety to be resistant to most diseases. The fruits are edible but may contain some alkaloids when unripe. This species tends to handle colder climates and grows well in very dry conditions. NOT a beginners tomato, seeds are tiny an need lots attention when starting, open pollinated 70 days.
