Trinidad Moruga Yellow Pepper
Here is the Trinidad Scorpion Moruga Yellow Pepper, Capsicum chinense, Scoville units: 800,000 ~ 1,200,000 SHU. This pepper originates from the district of Moruga in Trinidad and Tobago an was created by Wahid Ogeer of Trinidad. These peppers are of the CARDI (Caribbean Agriculture Research and Development Institute) variety with yellow fruits that range in size from 2 to 2.5 inches. It has a tender fruit-like flavor and the heat really ramps up after about a minute! Plants get to around 3 feet tall but thick and bushy. We found this variety to be a long season type but well worth it! Open Pollinated, 95 days from transplant.
