Sulu Adana Pepper
Capsicum annuum
Here is the Sulu Adana Pepper, Capsicum annuum, Scoville Units: 000 ~ 1,000 SHU. This pepper originates from the city of Adana in the country of Turkey. The plants are very short almost dwarf like not getting to much bigger then 18 inches tall but bushy and stocky. Even though this is a short and compact plant, it is a good producer. Fruits can get to 8+ inches long and taper to a point. These peppers are generally sweet but sometimes have heat averaging 500 shu. Fruits go from a bone color then turn to a deep orange almost red color when ripe. Peppers can take a while to ripen. We found this variety to be really good for stuffing and roasting. Open pollinated 80 days from transplant.
