Purple Marconi Pepper
Here is the Purple Marconi Pepper, Capsicum annuum, Scoville Units: 000 SHU. The Purple Marconi Pepper is said to originate from Italy but this is not confirmed. It is also considered to be the rarest form of the Marconi peppers. It was Awarded the All-America Selections recognition in 2001. Plants don't tend to grow over 2.5' high and the peppers get to around 6 inches. One plant can produce about a dozen peppers 4 to 6 inches long. Tho the fruits look black they are really a deep dark purple color. Open pollinated, 75 days.
