Here is the White Spine Cucumber, Cucumis sativus. This is the improved version of the Early White Spine cucumber and dates back to the late 19th century. It's a short, plump, dark green skinned white spine cucumber variety. This not the Early White Spine Cucumber. The fruits get to 4 - 6 inches long. Delicious smooth flavor over the cucumber flavor make these a very popular variety especially for pickling. Good producer and stays crisp in storage. Open pollinated 50 to 60 days from transplanting.
