Here is the True Little Potato Cucumber also known as the Khira Balam cucumber, Cucumis sativus. This is the true version of this cucumber. It's another alligator skinned heirloom cucumber variety like the sikkim cucumber. Originally from India, This cucumber was Introduced into the 1997 SSE Yearbook by Indiana member Robert F. Bruns who got his seed from the USDA. Nearly round 3 inch fruits with brown russetted skin are borne heavily on robust semi-bush like plants not getting much bigger then 6 feet long. Delicious lemon type flavor over the cucumber flavor. Good producer and stays crisp in storage. Open pollinated 60 to 70 days from transplanting.
