Here is the San Marzano Tomato, Solanum lycopersicum. This tomato originate from the small town of San Marzano sul Sarno, near Naples, Italy. Most San Marzano tomatoes sold commercially are grown in Italy. The flesh is much thicker with fewer seeds, and the taste is stronger, sweeter and less acidic then a Roma tomato. It makes a great tomato sauce as well as paste. Highly productive and produced fruit all the way up to the first frost! Open pollinated, Indeterminate. 65 days.
