Here is the Mortgage Lifter Tomato, Solanum lycopersicum. This large tomato heirloom variety was  developed by Willam Estler of Barboursville, West Virginia, in 1922 and was developed for the nursery plant market. It got it's name during the Great Depression to help small plant nurseries and farmers to recover from debt. It will produce large beefsteak tomatoes up to 2-1/2 lbs with a mild sweet flavor. They will Turn to a nice pink color with some yellowing in the shoulders as they mature on the vine. Easy to grow and disease resistant. Open pollinated Indeterminate 70 days.
