Here is the Chinese Tea Tomato, Solanum lycopersicum. This variety of tomato originates from China but we sourced our seed from a vendor in Canada. This is the story behind this tomato: "A man named John Mathews from B.C. Canada Received seeds from a tomato farmer in China who claimed they were in his family for two generations." The Chinese Tea Tomato has a red skin with orange red flesh inside getting to about 2 inches round and weighting about 1.5 oz. Plants can get to 10 feet tall in really good soil but plants tend to get to 6 feet tall. The fully ripened fruits will have a deep rich color to them. We are on the fence weather this tomato is dwarf or micro dwarf as our plants only got to maybe 20 inches tall and dies after fruit set like a determinate. Great tasting tomatoes for salads, eating fresh! Open pollinated, determinate, regular leaf, mid season, red, large cherry, 48 to 75+ days. LOT# 5 TAG# 188-2023
