Here is the Aji Verde Pepper, PI 290983, Capsicum baccatum Var. Pendulum, Scoville units: 1,000 ~ 8,000 SHU. This pepper originates from  Bolivia, Colombia, and Peru but mostly from the northern coastal valleys of Peru, mainly in Lambayeque and Piura. The pods get to about 3 to 4 inches long and turn red when ripe. Plants can get to 4 feet tall and produce several dozen peppers per plant and maybe more in the right conditions. Some say this is the same as the Aji Amarillo but in fact it is NOT!  We found these to go great with steak on the grill and they taste great dried and flaked. Open pollinated 90 days from transplant.
