Here is the Old German Tomato, PI 647528, Solanum lycopersicum. This tomato dating back to the 1860's was cultivated by the Shenandoah Valley, Mennonite community in the state of Virginia. They were commercially available around 1985 thru SSE. These tomatoes can get to 2 Lbs easily but range quite a bit in size! These bi-colored tomatoes are great for making sauce and ideal for slicing. Highly productive and produced fruit all the way up to the season! Open pollinated. Indeterminate. 65 days.
