Musquee de Provence Pumpkin
Here is the Musquee de Provence Pumpkin Cucurbita moschata. It is also known as the Fairytale pumpkin. This French heirloom is deeply ribbed with an orange umber colored skin and bright orange color inside and are a flattened type pumpkin. This pumpkin dates back to 1899 and is a highly sought after variety in France. They can get to 18 inches wide and weigh as much as 50 Lbs! Vines can get to 20 feet long and are good producers. Musquee de Provence Pumpkins are generally more tolerant of hot weather and do well in mid summer. They do have good flavor and can be served raw as thin wedges or be made into a soup. They are easy to grow and fun to look at. Open pollinated 110 days.
