Mushroom Red Pepper
Here is the Mushroom Red Pepper aka Squash pepper or Red Cap Mushroom pepper, Capsicum chinense, Scoville Units: 30,000 ~ 50,000 SHU. A large pepper with a fiery flavor! This variety originates from Jamaica. Fruits are mushroom shaped, wrinkled, and ripen to a bright red. The fruits can grow up to 2 inches long, by 2 inches across, with some resemblance to scotch bonnet peppers and Habanero peppers. Plants get to 3 feet tall and yield quite nicely. The mushroom peppers are believed to be ancestors of the modern bell pepper. Open pollinated, 90 days.
