Golden Cherry Tomato
Here is the Golden Cherry Tomato, Solanum lycopersicum. The tomato originates from our gardens in the USA. This golden yellow variety appeared in our garden as a volunteer in 2019. We are not sure of where it came from or if it's some kind of hybrid. It is a cherry tomato that has a golden-yellow skin with a yellow flesh inside getting to about 1.25 inches round and weighting around 1.25 oz. The thing about this variety is the tomato has appeared out of nowhere as we never grew any tomatoes like this in the past. Plants can get to 6 feet tall in really good soil but plants tend to get to 4 feet tall. The fully ripened fruits will have a deep rich solid color to them. Great tasting tomatoes for salads, eating fresh and for tomato sauce and paste! Open pollinated indeterminate regular leaf mid season 64 to 86 days.
