Filius Blue Pepper
Here is the Filius Blue Pepper, Capsicum annuum Scoville units: 30,000 ~ 50,000 SHU. The Filius Blue Pepper originates from Mexico and is considered to be an ornamental pepper. This pepper has a blue skin almost purple hue when in direct sun light but changes to orange, red sometimes yellow when fully ripe. Fruits tend to be a Tepin pepper shape but much larger in size. They go from green to blue but some times just turn red or black right away. They have a great pepper flavor and very crispy but a pretty good bite. This pepper is considered to be uncommon in the market place. One plant can produce dozens or more peppers and get to 2 feet tall. You can Grow it as an annual or ornamental in the vegetable garden or bring it in for the winter! Open pollinated 85 days.
