Here is the Dwarf Tepin Pepper, Capsicum annuum var. glabriusculum, Scoville units: 50,000 ~ 100,000 SHU. The Tepin or Chiltepin originates from the USA an is the oldest know pepper to exist but some disagree with this. This variation of the Tepin is a dwarf variety which grows in the south west mainly Mexico, Arizona and Texas and in the Sonoran desert. It does not get much bigger then 3 feet but with very thin branches which tends to sprawl outwards making the plant more wide then tall. This variety can be trimmed down and kept in containers for many years! Heavy producer with 1/4 inch pods. Open pollinated 65 days from transplant.
