Here is the Delicata Squash, Cucurbita pepo. It is also known as the peanut squash or Bohemian squash. It was Introduced in 1891 is a cream colored winter squash with green stripes. Delicata squash are easily grown, Start the seeds after all danger of frost is past. They get to about 3 inches in diameter and 6 inches long. They also have a great smooth flavor and best picked young. Plants can reach 2-3 feet long and produce 6 to 8 fruits per plant. We like to add this to soups but really good roasted! Open pollinated, 70 days.
