Here is the Xochiteco Hot Pepper, Capsicum annuum, Scoville units: 5,000 to 20,000 SHU. The Xochiteco Hot Pepper originates from Mexico and is sometimes called Xochitl chili. They are a upright green to red color after ripening. They measure up to 1.25 inches long, thick walled, juicy and satin skin. The plants can reach 2 feet tall and produces dozens of peppers per plant! Pods are hot and smooth while very chewy and can be dried. These go great in salads, rice & beans, stuffed and salsa! We found this to be a very a productive variety and easy to grow in northern climates. Always fruits first year and can over winter. Plants can live for many years in pots and tend to stay around 18 inches tall and ornate but needs support. A must grow for any collector!
