Here is the Rocoto De Seda Pepper, Capsicum Pubescens, Scoville units: 40,000 to 70,000 SHU. The Rocoto De Seda Pepper originates from Mexico. We found this Rocoto Pepper to be an amazing variety and is the very productive variety in northern climates. It's a thick walled, black seed fruit that gets to 2.5 inch long and turns from a green to sunset yellow when fully ripe. Plants can get to quit large 72+ inches tall but often times they stay around 48 inches tall and get very wide. Pods are very hot and have a really nice taste. These go great in salads, hot sauce, salsa and stuffed! Usually fruits first year and did really well in a 1 gallon pot but sometimes they will fruit on second year. Plants can live for many years in pots and tend to stay around 24 inches tall and ornate if pruned on a regular basis. A must grow for any collector! Open pollinated, late season, hot, perennial, easy to medium grow, 63 to 100+ days to overwinter for many years. LOT# 2 R1 TAG# 115-2022
