Here is the Red Peter Pepper, Capsicum annuum var. annuum, Scoville units: 25,000 ~ 80,000 SHU. There are 3 known variations of the Peter Pepper, Red Yellow and Orange. This listing is for the RED version. The Red Peter Peppers origin is unknown although it's commonly grown in East Texas and Louisiana. It is a type of Capsicum annuum, but it is not officially recognized as a cultivar of the species. The plants can reach 4 feet tall and produces dozens of peppers per plant! Pods are hot but smooth while very chewy and can be dried too. These go great in salads, rice & beans, stuffed and salsa! We found this to be a very productive variety and easy to grow in northern climates. Always fruits first year and can over winter. Plants can live for many years in pots and tend to stay around 24 inches tall and ornate but needs support. A must grow for any collector!
