The Pinto Half Runner Bean, Phaseolus vulgaris is a variety that is in between a bush and pole type bean. This pole bean is not meant for eating fresh but best cooked. It is a flat pod about 4 inches long with about 5 beans per pod. The plant will produce a medium sized pinto bean which is great for long term storage. The vines can get to 10 feet long and need a good size trellis. Its a great all around runner bean that will work in any growing zone. 65 to 120+days or till first frost
