Here is the Orange Ripple Pepper, Capsicum Chinense, Scoville units: 10,000 to 150,000 SHU. This Scotch bonnet type pepper originates from the USA and is a cross between a Yellow Scotch Bonnet, Orange Habanero and a Carolina Reaper created by Jason Schwarz. They are orange in color when fully ripe and have a tail like a reaper. The plants can reach 2.75 feet tall and produces dozens of peppers per plant! Pods are pungent but yet smooth while some may have very high heat to them. These go great in salads, rice & beans, and salsa! We found this to be a very productive variety and easy to grow in northern climates. Always fruits first year and can over winter. Plants can live for many years in pots and tend to stay around 18 inches tall and ornate but needs support. A must grow for any collector! Open pollinated, early to late season, orange color, perennial, easy grow, 69 to 100+ days to overwinter for many years. LOT# 4 SEC 1C TAG# 200-2022
