Here is the Large Red Cherry Tomato 25 Cent addition, Solanum lycopersicum. The tomato originated from our gardens in New Jersey (1991) and Pennsylvania (2010) in the USA. These large red cherry tomatoes is a variety we grow every year for our own eating and sharing with neighbors. We originally received the seeds from a neighbor in Paramus New jersey in 1991. They claimed these tomatoes came from their aunt's farm in upstate NY and that's about all we know about it. We have been growing this variety ever since we were given seeds. The reason we never offered the seeds is because we don't have any solid background on it, but now we will offer it as a 25 Cent sample offer for you to try! It is a cherry tomato that has a deep orange skin when fully ripe with a orange flesh inside getting to about 1.5 inches round and weighting around 1.25 to 2 oz. The thing about this variety is this tomato is one of the best tasting cherry tomatoes we ever grew! Plants can get to 8 feet tall in really good soil but plants tend to get to 6 feet tall and are very heavy producers. The fully ripened fruits will have a deep rich solid color to them. Great tasting tomatoes for salads, eating fresh and for tomato sauce and paste! Open pollinated indeterminate regular leaf mid season 61 to 96 days or first frost.
