Here is the Cumari Fragilis Pepper, Capsicum baccatum var. baccatum, Scoville units: 10,000 SHU. The Cumari Fragilis Pepper originates from Brazil but was discovered by Chris Fowler of Wales. This wrinkled dwarf type pepper variety has pods getting .25 inches round and go from green to red skin when fully ripe. Plants can get to 4+ feet tall and tend to be a medium sized with twisted branches but if pruned they tend to stay small and grow like a dwarf with the dwarf (D) recessive gene being expressed it the leaves. NOTE: Plants are very fragile! leaves will snap off with the lightest touch. Wild peppers go great in salads, rice & beans and salsa! We found this to be a very productive variety and easy to grow in northern climates. Usually fruits first year and you can over winter in pots. If pruned, plants can live for many years in pots and tend to stay around 24" tall and ornate when pruned. A must grow for any collector! Open pollinated, late season, green to red, perennial, medium grow, 79 to 100+ days to overwinter for many years. LOT# 0 TAG# 001-2025
