Here is the Chupetinho Purple Pepper, Capsicum chinense, Scoville units: 25,000 to 30,000 SHU. The Chupetinho Purple Pepper originates from Italy and is also known as little beak, Biquinho Purple, Chupetinho Red, Sweety Drops pepper. It was created by Giancarlo Fadda and is a cross between a White Chupetinho and a Pink Reaper pepper. We found this variety to be an amazing variety and has a strange growing behavior growing close to the ground and acting like a vine more then a plant. This beautiful hot pepper Biquinho variety has a medium wall thickness an fruits get to 1 inch long and turns from a blushing cream/white to a red when fully ripe. Plants can get to 67+ inches tall but often times they stay around 40 inches tall. Pods are mildly hot and have a really nice fruity smell. These go great in salads, hot sauce and salsa! We found this to be a very productive variety and easy to grow in northern climates. Usually fruits first year and did really well in a 1 gallon pot. Plants can live for many years in pots and tend to stay around 33 inches tall and ornate if pruned on a regular basis. A must grow for any collector! Open pollinated, mid-late season, hot, perennial, easy to medium grow, 63 to 100+ days to overwinter for many years. LOT# 5 SEC2B TAG# 204-2022
