Here is the Aji Cachucha Purple Splotched Small Pepper, Capsicum chinense x baccatum, Scoville units: 000 to 500 SHU. The Aji Cachucha Purple Splotched Small Pepper originates from Puerto Rico, and first discovered by Julio Lopez. This flattened UFO hanging pepper variety has a flattened skinny body type of fruit getting only to 1.5 inches across and turns from green to red skin when fully ripe. Plants can get to 3+ feet tall and tend to be thin wiry branches but if pruned they tend to stay smaller. Pods have a almost no heat to sweet baccatum pepper flavor with a very nice light burn that is very satisfying but some peppers may be a little hotter! These go great in salads, rice & beans and salsa! We found this to be a very productive variety and easy to grow in northern climates. Usually fruits first year and you can over winter in pots. Plants can live for many years in pots and tend to stay around 24" tall and ornate. VERY RARE! A must grow for any collector! Open pollinated, wild, early season, green to red, perennial, easy grow,  55 to 100+ days to overwinter for many years. LOT# 4 SEC3 TAG# 26-2022
