Here is the Leutschauer Paprika Pepper, Capsicum annuum, Scoville units: 1,000 ~ 2500 SHU. This pepper originates from Leutschau, Slovakia. They were also brought south to the small city of Matrafured in the Matra mountains of northern Hungary in the 1800s. It is mostly dried and used to make spicy paprika and to make kapustnica. We found this variety to be a good producer with wrinkled pods about 2.5 ~ 4 inches and have a conical shape that tapers to a rounded point. Plants are very good producers and like lots of sun. They can be eaten fresh or cooked. Open pollinated 80 days.
