Here is the Zimbabwe Black Variegated Pepper, Capsicum frutescens, Scoville units: 200,000 to 350,000 SHU. The origins of this pepper is unknown, However it was sent to us from Canada and was said to come out of a pack of regular Zimbabwe black pepper seeds. Fruits get to 1 inch long and turns from striped black/green to a patchy red when fully ripe. Plants can get to 20+ inches tall but often times they stay around 10 inches tall. Pods are very very hot and have a really nice fruity smell. Usually fruits first year and did really well in a 1 gallon pot and in garden. Plants can live for many years in pots and tend to stay around 12 inches tall and ornate if pruned on a regular basis. A must grow for any collector! Open pollinated, mid to late season, hot, perennial, easy to medium grow, 79 to 100+ days to overwinter for many years. LOT# 2 R7 TAG# 56-2022
