We have grown this carrot for 2 years now an found that it made very few carrots an more of the wild strain it was crossed with! Never the less we are offering them here where you can give it a go an try to stabilize it more. They do make a 10" carrot so black it didn't look real! - Planting and Harvesting Tips:
Start indoors 3-4 weeks before the last frost of spring. Transplant outside after the soil has warmed to 65˚ to 75˚F. Sow one inch deep and space 12-18 inches apart in rows 3-4 feet apart. Plants prefer full sun and moist soil with plenty of organic matter.
Harvest daily with a sharp knife during hot weather — pods taste best when young and grow quickly past the stage of prime eating.
